Chocolate Cookies!

Mmmm...

These were so yummy!

I made them for quizzing last night and they were a hit... They were really fudgey, cakey, and chocolatey!
{because I used dark cocoa!}

Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup baking cocoa
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • confectioners' sugar

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour or until easy to handle. Roll into 1-in. balls. Place 2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Flatten with a fork if desired. Bake at 350 degrees F for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are firm. Remove to wire racks. Dust warm cookies with confectioners' sugar.

Also, I made some more flower stuff using the same tutorial as my paper flowers...
You could make anything with these using anything!
{Paper, felt, fabric, or tulle would be super cute too!}
The flatness or puffiness of them depends on what you use...
When I made them with paper, fabric, and felt, they all turned out differently!

It's the little things in life that make me happy...

... Like when my favorite song on the radio turns on.

... Or when the barista puts TONS of whipped cream on my frappucino or pumpkin spice latte(:

... And when I get cute cards in the mail.

... Or when I get phone calls from my bestest friend.

... When I bake something without burning the house down.

... Comments on my blog(;

... Unexpected hugs!

... Shopping!!!!!

... An ice-cold Diet Mountain Dew(:

... Or a Gingerbread Latte like the one I had at Starbucks yesterday... yumm!(:

... When little kids say the funniest things!

... OOH! and can't forget watching my FAVORITEST movie!

... Or being in a good mood!

... And when I get to the end of this post because there are SOOOO many teeny-tiny things in life that make me oh so happy(:

Paper Flowers {tutorial}

Hello everyone!
(:
I just wanted to let you all know I am still alive and
haven't fallen of the face of the earth!!!!
I know I haven't posted in A LONG time but I have been SUPER busy lately...!

Well since I don't post too much about crafts and fun stuff like that
I thought I would share with you this cute, easy, and speedy project I saw originally using felt
{and kind of a different set-up}
but since I don't have felt, I am using paper...
And when I get felt... I will for sure make more of these!

You could use the paper ones to put on gifts, cards, or to just use as decoration.
If you used felt, you could put them on headbands, binders
{or "hair ties" as some people call them} and rings...

What you'll need...
Scissors
Paper {whatever color you'd like AND green}
Hot Glue Gun {and glue sticks}

Cut your paper into different sized circles {I cut mine into about 10 pieces}

Put your finger in the middle of each circle and crunch up the sides.

Hot glue the middle of a circle.

Layer another circle on top of the one with glue on it and press them together.

Keep layering the circles and glue until all the paper is gone.
Be sure to pinch them together as you go so the paper doesn't fan out.

Spread out some of the paper and fold some in.

Cut out the green paper into to leaf shapes.

Turn the flower over and put some hot glue on the bottom.

Press the leaves on the bottom.

And VUALA!

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.James 1:17
